About Me
Brandon is an Afro-British classical-trained pianist and composer who focuses on the piano as an art form. He creates music that blends traditional classical pieces with contemporary elements from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Brandon is dedicated to bridging the gap between genres, ranging from Baroque to modern styles, including easy listening.
Musical Activities
Brandon is a performing pianist and composer who tours the UK to showcase his works to new audiences in various venues, including churches, competitions, art galleries, and recreational clubs. By performing in these diverse settings, he aims to engage a wider demographic and invite people into his piano world, allowing them to experience the magic of live acoustic music.
Formal Education
Brandon graduated from Cardiff University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages in 2020. He later earned a Master of Economics and Social Studies in 2024. Before attending university, he completed his secondary education at Poole High School.
His parents lived in Spain for a time, and after leaving his country of birth in West Africa, he attended school in Valencia for a few months. During his time in Valencia, he was introduced to the glockenspiel in his music classroom and enjoyed playing in the school ensemble.
His formal musical education began in Dorset, where he moved with his family. There, he completed his GCSEs and an A-level in music while also taking weekly piano lessons under the guidance of Sheila Warbis. The rest is history in the making!
Drive To Composition
After years of absence from the music scene, it was the chaos in society that reignited Brandon's desire to return to music. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, he has composed and recorded a series of works fueled by the uncertainty of whether he would ever perform in front of an audience again.
He was also plagued by thoughts like: When would he see his friends again? When would he be able to travel the world? And when would he start his career after graduation?
Initially, he felt imprisoned by the virus, enduring lockdowns and curfews that forced everyone into new systems of isolation and social distancing to stay safe.
All these experiences, combined with late nights and his growing online presence, served as inspiration and, in a way, offered him a sense of freedom within the confines of his bedroom. His piano works reflect a yearning for better times and a hope for brighter days ahead.
Social Mission
Brandon has found an opportunity to give back to society through music. He has volunteered his time to perform at charity events and provided soothing music for therapeutic purposes. Additionally, he has served as a friend and mentor to beginners learning the piano. He has also made donations and encouraged others to contribute to social causes within their communities. Above all, he has positioned his brand as an advocate for peace and well-being.
