I like to describe myself as an Afro-British man; a classical-trained pianist, and a self-taught composer who views the piano as a very intimate gift. An intimate art form that creates moments that should be shared between performers and their respective audiences.

As a classical pianist, I love performing the music of Domenico Scarlatti and that of Alexander Scriabin. I consider myself a fan of many other heroes in the classical realm, from whom some of my all-time favourites are Beethoven, Chopin and Rachmaninov.

I want to be relevant as a composer. I would like to see my music speak to my listeners in a very personal way that they can relate to the feelings the pieces are evoking, and at best, I want them to use my compositions as a path to peace.

Quite often, I am asked about my influences, and I never quite know how to respond. I view my style as an evolving organism. At present, I blend elements from classical music with contemporary ones. I listen to the music of Bill Evans, Hiromi Uehara and Vanesa Martin at times, and let these artists, whose work I love, be my inspiration to write music that speaks to today’s demographic.

I am on a mission to find my personal style and bridge the gap between my classical world and that of today’s music. Just as with my personal life, my music journey is full of great moments and lots of bumps along the way. I constantly pray for inner peace, and so do I hope you find peace, and perhaps my music can help you get there.
